Columbia County Health System offers a Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program designed to prepare you for a rewarding role in healthcare. Through hands-on training and classroom instruction, participants gain essential skills in patient care and become eligible for state certification. Graduates are equipped to work in hospitals, long-term care, and home health settings.
In this program, you’ll learn to take vital signs, handle infectious materials safely, document patient information, and recognize signs of abuse and neglect. Ideal candidates are compassionate, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and eager to grow their skillset.
The following pre-screening requirements will be completed before attending class: Background check with fingerprinting, urinary drug analysis, immunization titers, and TB screening. Class time will not be paid as this opportunity is not an employment agreement.
No prior healthcare experience is necessary. Applicants must complete an interview, meet pre-screening criteria, and fulfill tuition arrangements to be accepted into the program.
Course Details and Dates:
- Class Tuition: $500.00, due no later than 72 hours prior to the start date of the program
- Exam Fees: Skills Exam $100 and Written Exam $100, due at time of testing
- Items you are required to purchase for the class: blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, second-hand watch, and scrub uniform.

- Class/Lab Schedule (3/9 - 4/18) Location: Port of Columbia – CCHS Learning Center in Dayton
- Every Monday and Tuesday from 4pm – 8pm
- Every Saturday from 8am – 4pm
- Clinical Schedule (4/20 - 4/24) Location: Columbia County Health System in Dayton
- Monday – Friday from 7am – 3:30pm
- Mandatory Mock Skills Testing: Week of April 27th
- Skills Testing: Week of April 27th
- The above dates and times are set, and participants must attend all scheduled classes, labs, and clinicals in order to pass the CNA Program – we do not have availability for make-up classes
