Job Description
Grace is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Lake Charles, LA Operations team. As an Operations Supervisor, you will report to the Operations Lead and be responsible for leading the production shift ensuring the site meets its daily plant goals. You will coach and mentor staff and help a strong drive a safety culture.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will be required to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to include day, nights, weekend, holidays (Dupont schedule).
Responsibilities
- Kickoff the start of the shift with the operators to set goals and expectations
- Conducts regular area tours to engage each team member, address performance and resolve issues, ensure cleanliness and 5S of area and safety walks / inspections
- Wraps-up the shift with the operators and conduct shift-handoff meeting with the next supervisor
- Facilitates preliminary RCA’s with team
- Manages/prioritizes schedule breaks and changes to daily work assignments and Operator accountability - coaching & performance management
- Conducts off shift /last minute call-ins for coverage
- Inputs maintenance work notifications
- Identifies and facilitate required work permits
- Verify completed maintenance work and TECO maintenance work orders
- Redlines Zero Energy surveys
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in petro- chemical manufacturing environment to include prior supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in an engineering discipline
- Working in a union environment
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 50 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
