The Ecosystem Engineering team is looking for a technical field engineer for the role of Field Engineer to join us. The ecosystem engineering organisation works on some of the most strategic projects and partnerships, and we’re looking for someone to help us understand, architect, communicate, and plan the implementations alongside key stakeholders across engineering, product management, and the field.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of, and is willing to become a subject matter expert on, Kubernetes within the realm of Industrial and Edge computing. In this role, you will work closely with Red Hat partners to build common solutions and identify and define integration points and product gaps. It will be your responsibility to define, document, collaborate, and share the results and progress of such endeavours with the wider organisation.
What you will do
Work with alliance and ecosystem partners through the alliance teams to develop joint value propositions.
Collaborate with Red Hat partners on designing joint products and solutions, including involvement in the design, and communication of best practices and guidelines.
Research, design, architect, and validate implementations that adhere to partner and customer expectations.
Be the “go to” technical leader on a given set of projects and initiatives, ensuring that field, sales, and BU leadership have a solid grasp on progress, challenges, and successes.
Onboarding Red Hat partners into Red Hat technologies, including demos, deep dives, and debugging sessions.
Engage with field and product management teams to understand and communicate partners’ requirements, expectations, and pain points to engineering product teams, including assisting with feature prioritisation and gap analysis.
Collaborate with product management teams to understand and assist with prioritising features and solutions.
Conduct research to inform awareness of customer needs and competitive offerings.
Create and carry out solutions demos for external use and internal enablement.
What you will bring
5+ years experience in designing and building complex systems, with a focus on microservices, Kubernetes, cloud, and on-prem infrastructure
Strong hands on technical and debugging skills
Experience with networking, storage, and microservices
Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English
Strong skills in deciphering and understanding technical requirements and use cases
Ability to work in a cross-functional and open and collaborative environment with a distributed remote and global workforce
Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and to help the organisation prioritise opportunities in a fast-growing market
Nice to have
Have worked in industry, e.g. industrial, telco, retail infrastructure, or existing edge-type configurations.
Understanding of and ideally some experience with open source projects
The salary range for this position is $142,140 to $200,000. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
