Job Description
As the Global Strategic Sourcing Director, you will collaboratively drive Sobi’s global sourcing strategies to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective procurement across the organization. This is a critical role that requires strategic leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and competitive industry landscape.
The role reports to the Senior Director, Head of Strategic Sourcing & Direct Procurement and there are currently no direct reports to the role. As the team is nimble, trust and transparency are key words
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategy that align with Sobi’s business goals and support key initiatives.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key global suppliers to strategically secure capacity and align on future growth together.
- Partner with internal teams, including supply chain, R&D, finance, quality and regulatory, to integrate sourcing strategies seamlessly into Sobi’s operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies while adhering to high-quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Stay ahead of market trends, supplier capabilities, and economic changes to anticipate and manage challenges effectively.
- Drive initiatives that foster innovation in procurement practices and align with Sobi’s commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing.

About you
We are looking for a strategic thinker who brings creativity and innovation to sourcing strategies and thrives in leading transformational change. You should be self-aware, leveraging both strengths and areas for growth to inspire trust and effective leadership. Excellence in managing complex negotiations, a focus on efficiency and optimized processes, and a willingness to be hands-on when needed are essential traits.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a sourcing/procurement role, preferably within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry working with contract manufacturing services or other relevant experience
- Proven track record in leading global procurement initiatives and managing complex supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills; exceptional project management and strategic thinking abilities.
- University degree in Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, Biochemistry or other relevant degree.
