Microanalysis Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a/an Microanalysis Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
Entegris, Inc. is a global leader in contamination control, specialty material handling, and advanced process materials for the semiconductor industry. Our metrology team is developing a method to count and identify unknown nanoparticles in DIW and very clean aqueous samples, which is a big challenge in the semiconductor industry.

What You’ll Do:
• We are looking for a motivated and talented chemistry or chemical engineering intern to work in the Microanalysis team.
• The intern selected for this position will spend most of the time in a lab setting to perform analytical tests using the cutting-edge metrology tools such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Confocal 3D Laser Microscope, and FTIR and communicate their findings to the Metrology Team.
• The intern will also help develop and improve upon various test methodologies.

What We Seek:
• Open-minded and eager to learn new techniques.
• Skilled in analyzing and organizing data.
• Knowledgeable in analytical and organic chemistry.
• Experienced with lab equipment such as FTIR, SEM, EDS, and 3D confocal microscope.
• At least a sophomore with a GPA above 3.1

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Perform and present the results of analytical tests to Senior Scientists and Engineers in the Metrology Team
• Become proficient in advanced analytical tools including an Atomic Force Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Confocal 3D Laser Microscope, FTIR, and Contact Angle test.
• Develop and iterate upon test methodologies
• Frequently discuss test results and provide suggestions for future project development
• Routine analytical service: Help analyze samples from other teams


Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Chemistry
• Chemical engineering
• Material science
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree or above
• GPA >3.1
