As a Physical Design Associate will focus on moderately complex issues related to ASIC infrastructure, automating ASIC Physical Design flows, design and verification flows, and improving CAD infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support Physical Design at Lightmatter: supporting ASIC infrastructure, automating place & route, design & verification flows, and improving CAD infrastructure.
- Ownership over informative dashboard that show the convergence of projects related to tapeouts
- Creating CAD infrastructure and processes that ensure the CAD tools and licenses are up to date
- Optimization of tools and cost saving measures related to CAD tools
- Practices effective communication across the organization
- Accountable for block level functions
Requirements
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or Bachelors with 3+ years of experience in Semiconductor industry
- Work independently on daily tasks and projects, while seeking guidance for new and unfamiliar assignments.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders to facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
- Understanding of Physical Design methodology to debug LVS/DRC issues at chip/block level
- Solid understanding of scripting languages such as Perl/Tcl, Extraction, and STA methodology.
- Knowledge about industry standards and practices in Physical Design, including Physically aware synthesis, Floor-planning, and Place & Route
- Experience in developing and implementing Power-grid and Clock specifications
- Strong understanding of all aspects of Physical construction, Integration and Physical Verification
- Knowledge of Basic SoC Architecture and HDL languages like Verilog to be able with logic design team for timing fixes Power user of industry standard Physical Design & Synthesis tools

Base Compensation Range:$100,000-$135,000. In accordance with the Colorado, California and New York law, the range provided is Lightmatter's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Actual pay will be based on several factors including work experience, location and education.
