Accountant - Staff

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepares information for periodic entries to journals.

·         Assists in adjusting and closing the general ledger monthly.

·         Prepares accounts analysis, bank reconciliations and other reports as needed.

·         Conducts quantitative analyses of Non-Gaming/Gaming operating data with the objective of evaluating results, identifying problem areas, maintaining quantitative controls, and recommending possible profit opportunities.

·         Prepares documentation for external auditors.

·         Reviews financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance

·         Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·         Strong mathematical and analytical skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

·         Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

·         Ability to read and analyze financial reports

·         Strong understanding of US tax regulations

Supervisory Responsibility:

·         Accounting Supervisor Non-Gaming

Work Environment:

Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes. 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

·         At least two years' experience in accounting or a related field
