Apprentice Maintenance Tech

SUMMARY: The Apprentice Maintenance Technician, under the direction of a Lead is responsible for performing diversified duties to help install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment and systems for Memorial City Mall and other retail properties. The apprentice will also assist in preparation and set up for events, specialty leasing needs and some tenant needs. Most of the duties will be on property but travel is possible with same work offsite at other MetroNational properties.

As an apprentice Maintenance tech you will assist and lean on the job to perform essential duties and responsibilities that are paramount to the overall operation and function of the property.

DUTIES and REPONCIBILITIES:

• Plumbing systems and repair
• Door repair
• Electrical repair
• Safety identification and repairs
• Marketing and 3rd party event setup and breakdown
• Miscellaneous building management duties as assigned by Superintendent and/or Operations Manager.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Preferred basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to operate heavy equipment on property.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in maintenance or engineering field
• Any certifications or accreditations a plus but not required.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must work well in a team atmosphere.
• Must work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Shifts are scheduled for 8 hours but will expand, especially during peak retail times.
• Must possess good communication and customer service skills.
• Material and assets inventory will be required.
• Ability to work independently on daily tasks and assigned projects.
