Responsibilities
The Director of Security serves as the senior Draper leader responsible for the identification, development, implementation and management of security strategies, resources, staff, and classified programs for Draper and its employees. This position leads and directs all aspects of the Draper’s security program including, Physical Security, Industrial Security, Counterintelligence, and Special Programs. Additionally, will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee security operations to ensure classified contract compliance, development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of Draper’s strategic objectives. Directs day to day operations for the security organization to include, developing, coordinating, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure security compliance over Draper’s national security program. Additionally, serves as the Draper corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO), directly responsible to the government for the Cambridge headquarters and coordinates activities with deputy and field-based Draper FSOs.
Primary Duties
- Provides vision, strategy oversight and operational excellence of the Security organization for all cleared operating locations, to include direct and coordination of day-to-day activities and issues relating to classified initiatives.
- Direct Security oversight of all cleared Draper campuses performing classified initiatives.
- Effectively communicates verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, including briefings to executive management and governance committees.
- Management of all areas of Security to include Special Programs, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Counterintelligence, Investigations, and Cleared Campuses to protect Draper’s assets and personnel while adhering to corporate and governmental security guidelines and policies.
- Coordinates and implements site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc. and physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
- Provide leadership and accountability to a diverse team of Security professionals working throughout the United States with responsibility for industrial security, special programs, physical security, investigations, security education and awareness, and personnel reviews.
- Monitors federal security trends, advises senior management and personnel, and creates procedures and implements appropriate action.
- Draper Corporate Security Representative to USG customers and Government partners including special program sponsors, DCSA, NCIS/FBI.
- Provides guidance, subject matter expertise and critically; mentorship and leadership to security personnel as well as serve as a senior member of the Draper Security leadership team committed to positive collaboration across the organization.
