Role Introduction
The HR Business Partner plays a pivotal role in aligning human resources strategies with our business objectives. This is a unique opportunity to be a key influencer in a high-growth environment, where change is not just constant, but welcomed. You will work closely with leaders and employees alike to drive talent initiatives, organizational development, and employee engagement.
MG2’s has offices in Seattle, Minneapolis, Irvine, Portland, New York, DC & Shanghai. This position is based in Seattle, WA. and is currently a hybrid position requiring weekly in-office cadence aligned with the HR team and firm.
What your day will look like:
- Develop a strong understanding of leadership, the markets, operational teams, hierarchy, the architectural delivery process, and MG2’s culture / workstyle to best identify process improvements and areas where HR can align strategically to accomplish goals.
- Assist leaders with people planning, organizational development, developing staff, culture building, and leadership.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, and employee engagement.
- Support key department ROB processes such as the annual performance management cycle, goal setting, employment law compliance, policy development and updates, survey reviews and new salary range evaluations.
- Oversee HR processes for leaves of absence, and workers' compensation, etc.
- Develops, oversees and maintains content of internal HR communications, including internal intranet.
- Support the development and delivery of change strategy providing clear communication, implementation steps, and measurement of key people initiatives/programs to support a high-performance culture.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all federal, state and local labor laws, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Works closely with Operations teams to communicate all employment status changes, leaves, promotions, increases, etc. ensuring accuracy of data in HRIS and payroll.
- Consult with managers and employees on various HR related inquiries, leaves, policy interpretation and employee relations issues.
- Be a trusted and confidential advisor and consultant, suggest best practices to enhance working relations.
- Manage sensitive workplace issues and conflicts, including performance issues and separations; lead internal investigations. Ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Works closely with leaders to develop job descriptions and maintain career paths and related materials, communications and training employees and managers on the effective implementation of such materials.
- Partners with L&D to drive talent initiatives and roll out development and learning programs to ensure success.
- Analyze, evaluate, and classify new and existing positions, analyze department leveling to ensure proper department structure.
- Partner with leaders to proactively identify opportunities to improve policies, processes, and procedures.
- Act as a liaison for immigration matters; oversee internal processes and manage external counsel processes.
- Support equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
- Support mergers and acquisitions integration.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who:
- Associate degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field, required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, preferred.
- HRCI PHR, SHRM-CP certification, or comparable required. Additional YOE may substitute.
- 8+ years’ experience in progressive HR required, preferably in matrixed (AEC) or professional services industry.
