Care Team Assistant - Medical Surgical

Supports the care team by performing basic patient cares and non-clinical functions such as: Order entry, form completion, prior authorization, panel management, faxing, equipment cleaning, room cleaning/stocking, monitoring supply inventory/expiration dates, and other duties as assigned. Functions as a team member and displays professionalism while interacting with patients, families and co-workers. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, initiative, proficiency, and good judgment to optimize the use of the care team's time and maintain a smooth work flow. Exhibits appropriate use of telecommunications equipment and uses computer efficiently. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and excellence are important components of this role. High School diploma or equivalent. One year of customer service experience. 

Additional qualifications:

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge. Excellent customer service skills. Organizational and time management skills. Must be adaptable to a changing environment. Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Medical Assistant, certification preferred. Knowledge of Pharmacology principles preferred. Prior experience in health care/medical office preferred. Working knowledge of an Electronic Medical Record preferred.
