The Senior Director of Information Technology at Altos will have enterprise responsibility for establishing our technical vision, ecosystem, and roadmaps. You will lead all aspects of information technology development and play an integral role in executing the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.  Altos is seeking an experienced strategic information technology leader with a strong record of leading IT infrastructure, cybersecurity efforts, diverse IT teams, business partnerships, and a clear ability to implement solutions.  Our ideal candidate is an innovative, collaborative, operationally savvy, thoughtful, and results-driven leader. 

The successful candidate will have experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that are aligned with our scientific and business goals and meet regulatory standards ensuring alignment, integration, and enablement of solution delivery. You will directly support the organization as well as lead a highly skilled team and instill diligence, accuracy, a sense of urgency, and efficiency when meeting the operational needs of the business at large.

What You Will Contribute to Altos

  • Create a vision and strategic Information Technology roadmap that is aligned with Altos Labs’ organizational priorities, supports our science and enables business objectives 
  • Work across multiple global sites  to implement Information Technology services, projects, enhancements, and support. 
  • Provide expertise and understanding for all major IT projects in accordance with Strategy, Security, Risk, and Compliance 
  • Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cyber security and IT risk management program including establishing and maintaining security policies, standards, and guidelines, and implementing processes and procedures to ensure an acceptable risk level is maintained
  • Oversee and ensure world-class IT support via external consultants and internal experts 
  • Lead IT sourcing,  budgeting, and planning process
  • Keep abreast of emerging industry trends and advise when to adopt technologies
  • Define and maintain SOPs as well as lead global GxP managed validation services team working closely with Quality, Legal and other groups 
  • Partner with counterparts to implement and operationalize controls necessary for security, GxP, SOX, and internal policies  
  • Ensure regular design reviews of systems and services to ensure adherence with identified stability, performance, and security standards


Who You Are

  • 10 years of progressive experience leading IT in a senior role is required
  • Pharma or Biotech experience preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field is required; MS or Ph.D. in computer science preferred 
  • Experience building Business Information Systems/Technology, IT strategy, network Infrastructure/architecture, Data Security, and ERP systems  
  • Experience leading and overseeing IT vendors, contractors and internal team required
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including server, desktop, storage, data center, networking required 
  • Management experience in IT Strategy, Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Privacy, Quality, Risk, Compliance, Infrastructure, Scientific/R&D, and Enterprise Applications
  • Excellent management, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with active-listening skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management. 
  • Demonstrated relationship savvy in building effective trusted advisor relationships with business partners and IT alike using effective relationship-building, negotiation, mediation, and influencing skills. 
  • Proven adaptability to shifting project schedules, priorities and assignments; Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
