In this role, you shape and support respiratory therapy education across UCLA Health, guiding orientation, competencies, and ongoing development. You’re a trusted clinical resource and preceptor, stay connected to patient care, and work closely with teams and partners to strengthen practice and patient outcomes.The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading and overseeing departmental education programs, including orientation, competency validation, certifications, in-services, and continuing education
- Serving as a clinical educator, resource, and preceptor for respiratory therapists and clinical specialists
- Providing direct patient care as needed, including assessment, intervention, patient and family education, and clinical documentation
- Supporting quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, including staff chart audits and KPI monitoring
- Developing, maintaining, and updating departmental competencies, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent standards
- Leading departmental projects and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Partnering with vendors and organizational leadership to evaluate, trial, and implement new equipment and technologies
May require Day/Night rotating shifts.May be required to work in any area of the Health System.
Salary range: $116,300.00-$264,600.00 Annually
Job Qualifications

Required:- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Minimum of 8 years as a Respiratory Therapist
- RCP CA state license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Certification (RRT)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association only
- Demonstrate strong clinical expertise with a solid understanding of clinical practice, procedures, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, JCAHO standards, infection control practices, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lead staff, coordinate schedules, and manage departmental operations
- Skill in assessing patient needs, prioritizing interventions, and providing guidance to staff.
- Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, patients
