Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a candidate to fulfill a Systems Engineering Lead for TCS. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
What you bring to the table:
- Responsible for providing leadership and systems engineering team ownership of products for a submarine combat system team
- Ability to create innovative product and requirements solutions that meet customer needs while meeting company financial and business objectives
- Capable of collaborating in a multidisciplinary team including hardware, software, and cyber-security experts
- Possess skills to communicate solutions and designs to medium and large teams of developers
- Experience applying MBSE mapping directly to software implementation
- The ability to support the program with the following:
- Manage requirements ecosystem between capability improvements, Functional Design Documents, and the systems engineering toolset
- Ensuring system design and NFRs are fully addressed
- Resolve complex issues and conduct research spikes
- Systems engineering product vision and agile team management
What sets you apart:
- Experience with DOORS, Jira, Jama and MagicDraw
- Past leadership of medium to large-sized teams
- Experience with SCRUM or Agile
- Familiarity with task planning, budgets, and forecasting
- Excellent communication skills; effective presenter with both internal and external audiences
- Very strong knowledge of technology trends and the ability to champion new ideas, products and process improvements
- Ability to effectively handle complex assignments and work through challenging problems with external and internal stakeholders
