About The Team:

The Growth Engineering team focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience from when a customer lands on CookUnity’s homepage through the sign-up process and finishing with checking out. The team tackles high-impact projects that delight our customers and deliver meaningful business value.

The Role:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Engineer to lead the evolution of CookUnity’s Identity Platform, a critical component powering seamless and secure experiences for our chefs and customers. You will define the long-term vision, architecture, and technical roadmap for identity management, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll drive the implementation of robust authentication, authorization, and user management systems while owning key KPIs like uptime, performance, and security compliance. Your role will involve designing and maintaining tier-zero identity services that millions rely on daily. We need a hands-on technical leader who can align with product and engineering stakeholders to build a best-in-class Identity Platform that supports CookUnity’s growing ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Architectural Vision and Strategy:
  • Define the long-term architectural vision for CookUnity's identity platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic technical roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Drive architectural decisions and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Platform Development and Optimization:
  • Design, implement, and maintain critical tier-0 services that support chef onboarding, menu management, order processing, and customer experience.
  • Ensure high availability, uptime, and performance of the platform.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges and performance bottlenecks.
  • Contribute code, and do code reviews.
• Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Mentor senior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering leaders to define and prioritize features.
  • Influence other leaders within the company.
• Operational Excellence:
  • Own critical KPIs related to platform availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform stability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in platform infrastructure and development processes.
• Industry Knowledge and Innovation:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, bringing innovative solutions to CookUnity.
  • Contribute to the development of internal standards and guidelines.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Prior experience with building authentication backends and frontends with hands-on experience with OAuth 2, OpenID Connect, MFA and SAML.
• Is a subject matter expert for Identify Management, Access Management, Governance and Access certification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead authentication initiatives from requirements to delivery.
• Solid understanding of how to scale authentication applications.
• Passion for shipping world-class products for our users!
• Have excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Are able to thrive on small, collaborative engineering teams.
• Have experience in a fast-paced environment and can handle ambiguity and quickly evolving priorities.
