They are spread across Europe (Spain, France, Germany). Each squad is composed of pairs of iOS &amp; Android engineers, working on the native language to build the best experience for our users. <br/>You will also collaborate with other product squads &amp; stakeholders, along with the Mobile Core squad that is providing the foundations &amp; infrastructure for your developer experience on apps. That’s why we are also in favor of having mobile engineers from product squads contributing to technical &amp; core projects from time to time.<br/>The role &amp; responsibilities <br/>We are looking for an Android Senior I Engineer to join one squad of our main tribe. We have the mission in 2024 and beyond, to provide the best features, services &amp; user experience for our app users. <br/>The engineer in this role will produce advanced app-first features, contribute to the Android engineering excellence &amp; innovation, and share their knowledge within the Android Community at Back Market. <br/>The engineer will also contribute to the mobile engineering chapter, with talented iOS &amp; Android engineers but also with other engineers from other platforms (SRE, Backend, Frontend, CyberSec, Data…). Whether hooked on Kotlin, developing advanced and smooth UI &amp; UX, or architecturing scalable features, the engineer will share &amp; remain open to new ideas.<br/> <h3></h3> <ul> <li>Consistently delivers Android code that sets the standard for quality and maintainability, making the Android app scalable &amp; accelerating product iterations</li><li>Eager to elevate the app user experience by collaborating with the Product Manager &amp; Product Designer, and by implementing quick-wins UI animations, transitions, accessibility, and Design System components.</li><li>Effectively contributing to technical initiatives to reach the Android engineering &amp; product vision, accountable for large team project features, including ones with external dependencies.</li><li>Ability to design code through technical conception before development, ensuring robust and efficient code patterns (coroutines, flows, and multi-modules architecture)</li><li>Curiosity and proactiveness in implementing Kotlin and Android technologies like Compose (migration started in 2023).</li><li>Build &amp; scale our app architecture (MVVM, MVP, or similar), understanding and applying SOLID principles while recognizing the importance of simplicity (KISS).</li><li>Find ways to prevent regressions, push for Unit and UI testing by collaborating with QA &amp; Android Engineers, and explore new E2E testing practices, from native to third-party solutions.</li><li>Guarantee the Android app performance on the features developed with strong monitoring practices, including logs &amp; metrics to measure UI &amp; Core performance (Datadog, Crashlytics)</li><li>Participation in the tech community is appreciated: events, meetups, continuous learning through blog articles and industry conferences.</li></ul>Recruitment process :<br/>- Phone screen with Yann (30 min)- Technical screening with two Android engineers (~30 minutes)- Android live technical interview exercise &amp; discussion (~2h)- Team fit with your future manager + one person from our product/platform engineering team (~1h)- BM value interview with our leadership (~45m)<br/><br/>WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US ?<br/>- A meaningful job: you will help avoid thousands of tons of electronic waste and fight against planned obsolescence.
