General Summary

Resonant Inc., A Murata Company, seeks a Computational Software Development Engineer to join our product development team. The successful candidate will work closely with a tightly-knit team of electrical and software engineers and physicists to support novel RF (Radio Frequency) filters for high-volume production. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key contributor to our dynamic organization and leverage your experience to solve high value problems for mobile devices. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Drive new tools from proof-of-concept scripts from the Resonant technology team into tools deployed in HPC environments. 
  • Implement and support quality of life improvements for Resonant’s simulation tools, including: 
    • Enable new features (mesh visualization and results postprocessing).
    • Implement guardrails (preventing input errors and incorrect results).
    • Improve overall design (data flow and automation).
  • Review and understand code produced by other team members. 

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science or equivalent 
  • 1+ year of work or academic programming experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write software to be used by other users.
  • Experience programming in MATLAB, Python/numPy, or similar numerical languages.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills to support complex analysis.
  • Ability to work well in a small group environment.
  • Willingness to jump in and take on new tasks to support the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of C#, Python, and/or VBA or similar language. 
  • Comfortable working in both Linux and Microsoft Windows environment. 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming using C++. 
  • Solid foundation with linear algebra, especially so for numerical linear algebra. 
  • Familiarity with REST API or library development. 
  • Familiarity with JIRA or other similar collaboration software. 
  • Familiarity with source revision control using git, Mercurial or SVN.  
  • Familiarity with electronic circuits, ability to read schematics and basic circuit engineering.

Travel

Occasional travel to CA offices. 

Base Salary: $88,612 - $138,522
