Position Summary :
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing representative of ReCode Clinical Development Department with a primary responsibility to engage in the exchange of scientific data, education of health care practitioners (HCPs), and maintain close engagement with key scientific and clinical leaders (KOLs). The MSL integrates clinical/scientific expertise and knowledge to ensure successful implementation of the medical affairs strategic plan. The MSL also brings relevant insights from the field related to developments in scientific research and clinical treatment. The role of the MSL is non-promotional in nature.
In this role, you will be a team player that will execute on US KOL and HCP engagement strategy for ReCode’s PCD respiratory program. You will be responsible for collaborating with our cross-functional teams to deliver on ReCode’s mission of powering the next wave of genetic medicines. You will have experience in either rare diseases or genetic medicines such as mRNA, gene therapy or gene editing.
This is a remote-based contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with ReCode Medical Director as clinical/scientific resource to HCPs and KOLs to bring awareness to ReCode clinical programs
- Support interactions with investigators in conjunction with ongoing and planned clinical trials
- Serve as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific and medical information between Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/investigators and the company's clinical development and clinical operations groups
- Establish, foster, cultivate and maintain peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in PCD as well as respiratory therapeutic area current and future interests
- Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges and interactions with identified KOLs.
- Present clinical and scientific data on ReCode programs
- Identify and report key scientific, clinical and research insights from KOLs and HCPs to ReCode Clinical Development and Clinical Operations management
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in the field
- Develop, maintain and demonstrate scientific expertise and a strong knowledge of respiratory diseases and study methodology, GCP, clinical information, and clinical trial data
- Demonstrate full knowledge of and ability to execute on approved plans for engagement with KOLs and patient groups
- Serve as technical/scientific subject matter resource to Clinical Development and Clinical Operations teams
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and KOLs/HCPs on Medical Affairs initiatives to support an early phase development program, including publications, medical meeting support, medical education opportunities, interaction with patient advocacy groups, etc.
Qualifications:
- MD, PharmD, PhD, MBA or MSc in medical or health sciences is strongly preferred or equivalent.
- At least five years of experience in a field-facing scientific role
- Experience in the biotechnology industry, knowledge of clinical trial conduct and GCP
- Experience developing and leading patient recruitment strategies
- One or more years of respiratory experience, with rare disease experience preferred.
- Track record of excellent communication skills and ability to interact with KOLs, HCPs, and health care institutions
- Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time
Salary Range: *$105-$115/hr
