Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $37.16.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be an active participant in the safety process and practice safe work habits at all times.
• Perform mechanical preventative maintenance according to an established schedule on all equipment.  Inspect machinery, lubricate and made adjustments or repairs as needed and take faulty equipment out of operation until repaired.
• Effectively troubleshoot all mechanical equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions to repair, replace or rebuild.
• Maintain an open and candid working relationship with coworkers from all departments and immediate supervisor/manager.
• Perform other job functions as requested to support the effective and efficient operation of the plant, including duties of other classifications.
• Read, interpret and follow blueprints and sketches, making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete the job.
• Make out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution, material usage, etc., and perform other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
• Direct, assist, and instruct other workers on jobs where it is necessary to work together or when requested by supervisor.
• Inspects/maintains plant buildings and maybe required to cast concrete forms and bollards as needed.
• Operate, maintain, inspect, lubricate and repair all plant systems as required.
• Familiar with maintenance management software systems with light keyboarding skills to post time, materials, comments and feedback on work orders.  To initiate or create reactive work orders for urgent type of work which arises on a shift.
• Member of the emergency response team.  Duties include dealing with self-contained breathing equipment, full spill emergency equipment, firefighting equipment, training in CPR and First Aid.  Expectations – full knowledge and ability to use.
• Plans and lays out work assignments to accomplish them with maximum efficiency.
• Prepares, reads, interprets and follows complex blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete job.
• May operate mobile equipment.
• Performs water treatment and fire protection equipment tests following prescribed methods.  Adds materials and makes corrections and repairs based on test results.
• During cleanouts and emergencies, may work with other maintenance employees, performing any duties to get equipment back into operations in minimum time.
• Directs, assists, and instructs other maintenance employees on jobs where it is necessary to work together or when requested by supervision.
• Makes out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution, material usage, etc., and performs other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
• Must maintain the necessary tools for above classification where required and be proficient in their use and care.
• Always use safe work practices, follow all safety rules and procedures, immediately report any hazardous conditions, and fully participate in safety programs.
• Wear all personal protective equipment as required by management, including but not limited to all or some of the following; protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dust mask, or respirator.
• Complete monthly CBTs or other training as required.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly at all times. 
• Occasional instruct new or lesser experienced employees on the job.
• Complete all necessary training assignments.
• Complete SAP data entry.
• Performs other related duties as directed including duties of lower classification.  Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
