EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited ultrasound program
- 0+ years of experience
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
- American Heart Association (BLS)
- Any one of the following credentials:
- American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-VS)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS- OB/GYN)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS- AB)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-RVT)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-PS)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-MSKS)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS- BR)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with breast sonography strongly preferred.
- RDMS-BR a plus
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist I position works independently to complete a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include common and special ultrasound exams of moderate complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures. The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist I position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This position is a member of the direct patient care team.

- Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include common and special ultrasound exams of moderate complexity.
- Optimizes protocols to provide better patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation and technical factors.
- Assists physicians during diagnostic procedures or special ultrasound procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Utilizes AIDET incorporating Key Words and MANGAGE UP techniques, when speaking to patients and family members at an age-appropriate level.
- Follows MRI safety policy and procedures and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly.
- Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures.
- Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies.
