Varsity Technologies is currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join their team.

Within this role, you will:

• Focus on the development of one of the company’s products, including the implementation of new features and integrations
• Serve as the primary developer of the customer web application using Node.js and AWS
• Collaborate with the team on product research and development
• Respond promptly to important issues and bugs that affect customer operations
• Participate in analysing, designing, writing and testing code, documenting and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems
• Maintain existing application programs by fixing bugs or clearing up operational deficiencies in both previously released software and software slated for future release
• Assure program, module and system integrity through thorough testing and adherence to company standards and procedures
• Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, design, analysis, requirements, implementation, test automation, and maintenance
• Utilize new technologies and tools to modify products and provide integration with applications developed internally and externally
• Prepare and modify program and system documentation
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members

The 90-day onboarding process will include a comprehensive introduction to the company and its culture. You will have the opportunity to meet your team members and get to know them. The expectations for your role will be clearly outlined on a week-by-week basis to ensure a smooth transition. Additionally, you will be given some initial simple projects to assess your capabilities and identify any skill or experience gaps, allowing for personalized development opportunities.

This is a full-time role, and your typical day should overlap with the current schedule of the Dev team, ideally 10 AM to 8 PM EET.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or comparable work experience
• 4+ years of SaaS or web-based development experience

• Demonstrated strong knowledge of software development practices, computer science theory, unit testing, design patterns, and understanding of relevant technologies
• Experience writing and testing code to meet strict deadlines
• Experience scaling web-based applications running in the cloud
• Demonstrated understanding of product architecture and all underlying technologies
• Demonstrated understanding of the development process
• Demonstrated experience with data modelling tools, web services and/or service-oriented architecture
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment
