Summary
The Practice Manager is a valuable member of our Behavioral Health team who supervises and oversees all aspects of the Adult Outpatient Mental Health and integrated Primary Care Clinic, including psychiatry, therapy, case management, MAR (medicated assisted recovery) and medical services. Provides the clinical direction for the program and is responsible for the adherence and development of the philosophy and delivery of services at the program. Performs work of considerable difficulty managing the daily operations and staff assigned to a Community Health Center clinic site. Manages program budgets and daily operations of all aspects of the services. Work is distinguished by the ability to coordinate activities throughout the entire work site. Supervisory direction is provided to office manager and clinic staff.
Schedule: 40 hours a week
- Monday - Friday (8:30am-5:00pm)
Examples of duties
- Promotes and champions an integrated model of service delivery across disciplines within the clinic.
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision and development of program staff, including completion of evaluations.
- Assures ongoing compliance with agency, mental health and medical regulations (Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center, Rule 132, Rule 140, Joint Commission, HRSA, DMH, etc)
- Provides management direction of daily operations of the Mental Health and Community Health Center clinic site.
- Monitors staff and client scheduling and adjusts accordingly to ensure the highest level of care per the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care model.
- Prepares, develops, monitors and analyzes clinic budget in accordance with agency guidelines and in conjunction with the Business Manager.
- Monitors and ensures operational compliance with managed care organization (MCO) contracts.
- Implements operating guidelines, procedures and protocols to support an integrated approach to care by following the Patient Centered Medical Home care model, prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary.
- Collaborates with other supervisory staff to develop department priorities and goals.
- Ensures ongoing training of staff; provides appropriate leadership and direction and promotes positive morale, creativity and teamwork among staff.
- Evaluates employee performance and sets clear goals and expectations.
- Fosters and encourages individual program staff to understand and identify with the full team at the clinic.
- Tracks all program data including Key Performance Indicators and leads Continuous Quality Improvement projects for the program.
- Promotes and facilitates the professional development of program staff by means of in-service training sessions.
- Interviews job applicants for all program positions.
- Provides direction on the scope, types, and evaluation of clinical and administrative programming that is offered utilizing published best practices and empirically proven clinical methodologies in delivery of client care.
- Ensures that staff is trained on quality improvement concepts, tools and techniques.
- Conducts, coordinates, and supervises the program and regular review of clinical records.
- Organizes and participates in treatment-related clinical conferences and staffing's on assigned clients.
- Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards.
- Connects and outreach with community leaders and organizations to promote and advance the mission of the agency in providing healthcare to individuals in the community.
- Ensures that the assigned clinical site obtains a “Likely to recommend” score in quarterly patient satisfaction surveys.
- Develops and implements recommendations for cross training for staff so that there is greater understanding of services available for our patients and opportunities to enhance service to existing patients.
- Maintains CLIA manual, forms and protocols and ensures staff compliance with Federal and/or State standards.
- Assist with orientation, oversight and education of learners in the clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field is strongly preferred
