This Claims Operations Associate I position is an individual contributor role supporting the Claims and Claims Operations staff. As a member of the Everest Insurance Operation team, the Claims Operations Associate I will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks as well as assisting with projects that support the various Claims Transformation projects and overall growth of the Claims organization. The Claims Operations Associate I reports to the Director, Claims Operations.

Position Description

Support the Claims organization with initial claims intake and set up, financial processes, customer service, data management, vendor management, and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Oversee payment queues for assignment.
  • Processing payments and other financial transactions.
  • Ongoing claim file maintenance including diary management.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist colleagues with a variety of operational functions as needed, including processing and indexing of mail as well as special projects.
  • Customer service support including answering calls and responding to email inquiries as needed.
  • Perform quality control and oversight of outside vendors.
  • Provide support to Claims professionals.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Property and casualty insurer and Claims-related experience are desired, but not required.

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including follow-through on and communication about action items, task completion and/or issues which remain unresolved.
  • Ability to work well in a professional, team-oriented environment.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Suite skills and PowerPoint).
