Frontend Engineer, Metadata Lake

Joining Collibra’s Metadata Lake team:
We are looking for a frontend or fullstack engineer to join Collibra’s Metadata Lake team. This team belongs to our larger Catalog product and rolls up to the product/applications engineering org within Collibra. The feature we are developing is of high value and visibility to the organization. The mission of the team is to develop a hyper scale metadata repository that allows users to efficiently search and curate relevant metadata for governance. We are big on creating fast metadata ingestion and providing quick and efficient search and browse UIs that would allow users to sift through large amounts of data at ease.
The team is currently composed of solid engineers who are big on holding each other accountable. Code reviews are a big deal, and the team is very dedicated to quality of code and writing meaningful automated tests. We are looking for someone with strong frontend skills and experience to help build Metadata Lake’s UI. Experience in distributed architecture and building scalable products is a plus. You will be interfacing with various teams in the organization to bring the product to general availability

Frontend Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:
- Designing, developing and maintaining new features to further improve our products
- Partnering with others to implement new functionalities with an emphasis on quality.
- Developing efficient clean code
- Following agile process (Scrum) to make sure your deliverables are visible for the entire team and company stakeholders
- Demonstrating results / functionality / change / recommendations
- Establishing strong relationships across multiple teams to achieve results
- Taking direct ownership of challenges found and working collaboratively through these with others
- Actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas
You have:
- Professional experience in building large and scalable web applications with Javascript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, React, and Material UI
- Work experience in building products intended for real-time on-demand environments e.g. SaaS, Internet/Digital, or Cloud Products
- Knowledge of OO principles, Design Patterns, functional programming, clean code principles, and Agile processes (Scrum) in developing and delivering software
- Ability to communicate effectively in English - we’re a global team and English is the most spoken language
- Nice to have work experience with at least one of the following additional technologies: Node, GraphQL/Restful APIs, ZOD, Playwright, Storybook/Chromatic, Accessibility/Internationalization.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience

Measures of success:
- Within your first month, you will embed yourself within the team and understand the core workings of the larger product that we are developing and understand the workflows around development, deployment and release. You would have established a relationship with our Product Manager, UX Designer and Tech Writers
- Within your third month, you will be well accustomed to the engineering team and you would be a key contributor to the team. You will be involved in solving big and small problems alike and be ready to take on any task from the backlog
- Within your sixth month, you will have established yourself as a the key Frontend Engineer of Metadata Lake team within and outside of other teams in the organization (architecture, platform, production engineering) as well to be able to lead the team to successful releases
Compensation for this role
The standard base salary range for this position is $116,000.00 - $193,000.00 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
