- The Sheet Metal Superintendent will supervise and coordinate the material for and activities of Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices engaged in the installation of sheet metal systems.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for project.
- Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment and tools required at each project commencement.
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
- Evaluate Foreman and workers abilities and expertise to ensure the most productive job placement.
- Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
- Analyze and resolve work problems.
- Maintain time records.
- When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts.
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned workers.
- Follow HR procedures for hiring terminations and disciplinary actions.
- Understand, or be willing to learn and apply, Lean principles and processes.
- Strong understanding of SMACNA, Florida Building and AHCA codes. Ability to troubleshoot Test and Balance issues.
- Adept working with coordinated shop drawings from BIM as well as remodel projects with only contract drawings.
- Knowledge of labor tracking.
- Completion of the apprenticeship program and appropriate Foreman experience preferred.
- OSHA30, CPR/1st Aid, Qualified Rigging and Signaling, Forklift, Fall Protection, Scissor lift.
- Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction). Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.
- Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead; push, pull, lift and stoop. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
- Drug test, background check and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
