The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Key Account Quality Engineer, you will play a key role for driving customer satisfaction with key accounts for the Transportation and Energy Vertical Business in the USA and Canada. In this role you will be able to collaborate directly with key accounts to manage their specific requirements, obtain their product approval and solve their most challenging quality issues. All this by building trust with customers to enable value creation.

• You will drive customer satisfaction quality objectives with key accounts
• You will become the quality expert for what is necessary to sell product into the customer
• You will lead problem-solving activities to resolve customer specific complaints
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain production approval from customers
• You will influence other functions to adopt industry and customer requirements and standards

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
• Five (5) years of quality, product/process engineering, program management, manufacturing experience in Transportation or Energy industries in a private, public, government or military environment
• Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

• Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in Automotive Industry as a Tier 1 supplier
• Fluent English speaker with effective communication skills
• IATF16949 and Core Tools demonstrated experience

Work location: Livonia, MI or Austin, TX

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN or Livonia, MI.

Travel: May include up to 25% of the time domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
