Accounting Manager

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a keen attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices. This role is crucial to our financial health and will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Reconciliations: Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial account reconciliations, including (but not limited to) bank, prepaid, and liability accounts. 

• General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, and journal entries. 

• Internal Controls: Partner with the Controller to ensure proper internal controls within the Finance function work appropriately. 

• Audit Coordination: Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided and any issues are promptly addressed. 

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of accounting professionals, providing direction and support to ensure high performance and professional development. 

• Tax Compliance: Partner with our tax professionals to ensure proper compliance with our tax reporting requirements. 

• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements. 

• ERP System Management: Manage and optimize the use of ERP systems for financial reporting and analysis. Qualifications 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred. 

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel skills.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in accounting and financial reporting.
• Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ethical Standards: Strong integrity and ethical standards with a commitment to confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Attributes:

• Industry Experience: Previous experience in retail apparel is a plus.
• Project Management: Experience with project management and process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced Certifications: Certifications like CMA, CFA, or CFM are advantageous?
