Registered Nurse - Shift Coordinator OR Surgery Services (FT/Days)

Manages clinical outcomes, cost, customer satisfaction and administrative efforts in the daily care assignment and in the operations of the unit. Coordinates care and administration support for a patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. Serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary. Creates an environment that enables a highly engaged team to deliver high quality, person centered care.

This Surgical Services unit functions within Bloomington Hospital, where we have 13 operating rooms and one open heart room. Our Surgical Services team members perform a variety of services, including cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, and laparoscopic procedures. Nurses new to the OR will be given the opportunity to learn to scrub, which is a great benefit for those that desire to expand their career within the OR. If you are willing to work hard, are self-motivated and desire to work in a positive atmosphere, this is the right team for you! We are looking for someone that is a team player, who can work for the betterment of the whole team in the OR.

• Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required for those newly hired or promoted into the position after May 1, 2023. 
• Masters of Nursing preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
