The Director of Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a visionary leader responsible for aligning IT architecture with enterprise goals. This role focuses on functional alignment with business units, strategic planning across IT and operations, and governance over emerging technologies including Generative AI. The Director will guide architecture design, ensure platform and enterprise governance, and lead initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency, and digital transformation.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Enterprise Alignment

  • Create actionable technology roadmaps in partnership with product owners and platform teams.
  • Drive strategic vs. operational planning efforts and ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Develop architectural guardrails to guide solution architecture, including GenAI platform integration.
  • Design and maintain the future state architecture across business, application, data, and infrastructure domains.

Functional Enablement & Alignment

  • Champion EA engagement with key business functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Shared Services, Operations, and the Digital Technology Center of Excellence (DTCoE).
  • Lead architectural alignment in strategic functional initiatives like ERP transformation, smart factory architecture, IT/OT integration, Business Continuity (BC)/Disaster Recovery (DR), Ops modernization, application rationalization, and consumer data governance.
  • The role involves close collaboration with functional leaders to map capabilities, define reference architectures, manage application portfolios, and ensure technology investments align with operational goals.
  • Address cross-functional needs including privacy, security, and platform governance through architectural solutions.

Generative AI Development, Enablement & Governance

  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide architectural governance for GenAI usage, ensuring compliance, security, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Define and maintain guiding principles for GenAI tool usage, API integrations, and application-level AI enablement.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, legal, and platform engineering teams to ensure secure, policy-compliant use of GenAI across the organization.

Governance & Architecture Services

  • Oversee the Architecture Review Board (ARB), project inductions, exception handling, and procurement reviews.
  • Drive updates to architecture policies, CAB workflows, CMDB integrations, and standards enforcement.
  • Promote governance in areas including authentication, SaaS strategy, infrastructure design, and data privacy.

EA Products, Tools, and Insights

  • Lead productization of EA services including:
    • Capability Center, Application 360, Architecture Repository, Tableau dashboards, and EA AI Applications
  • Support cloud cost optimization, resource utilization tracking, and decision-support tooling.
  • Enable cross-functional data collection and insight generation for AI-driven automation and architectural insights.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner with ITSM, EPMO, security, and business stakeholders to standardize architecture practices.
  • Mentor architects and functional teams on EA practices, reuse strategies, and platform alignment.
  • Foster a culture of architecture reusability, policy education, and cross-team collaboration enabling reference architecture, standards, guidelines and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
