About the role

Primary Accountability

The Facilities Tech is responsible for performing in-house maintenance repairs.  


Description of Primary Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for performing in-house maintenance repairs. 
    • Identifies and performs minor repairs, including but not limited to plumbing, lock work, door knob replacement, tile and floor repairs, painting, moving furniture, light bulb changes, air filter changes, air conditioner preventative maintenance, hanging pictures/frames, carpentry, HVAC systems, electrical, outside grounds, and minor remodels.
    • Assesses and relays information with the Facilities Manager obtaining external assistance from a vendor when necessary.
    • Recommends action regarding facility maintenance. 
  2. Responsible for implementing Preventative Maintenance Programs for facility equipment, fixtures, and systems. 
    • Manages and completes maintenance work orders.
    • Procedures relating to facilities equipment, fixtures and systems are followed at all time.
  3. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels. 
    • Orders facilities maintenance supplies. 
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Description of Primary Attributes

Professional & Technical Knowledge:

  1. Possesses work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including formal written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a trade school, para-professional, certificate type program, or equivalent work experience. 
  2. Job duties require knowledge and training in the field of general building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC systems.

Technical Skills:

  1. Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  2. Ability to use Microsoft Excel to review and compile data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  3. Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid California driver’s license required.

Communications Skills:

  1. Job duties require the compilation of information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
  2. Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.

Pay Scale:

Min Hourly Rate: $21.25

Max Hourly Rate: $29.33
