Pediatric Cardiology Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN)

Inova Pediatric Cardiology Services is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Cardiology RN Outpatient to join the team. .This role will be full-time, day shift Monday- Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. 

Work location: 8260 Willow oaks Corporate Drive #400, Fairfax VA 22031. Note: Candidates may require to travel to other offices when needed.

 The Registered Nurse Outpatient provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Job Responsibilities for the Cardiology Nurse include: 
•    Patient education Answering patient questions pre- and post-surgery 
•    Care navigation
•    Guidance to Medical Assistants
•    Oversee clinical workflow and work collaboratively with team 

 This is a fast-paced service line and part of a growing practice. Inova Cardiology is a team of board-certified Physicians and Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, RNs and LPNs and MAs dedicated to bringing compassionate, comprehensive clinical care to our patients.

Additional Requirements:

Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience. Preferred at least 2 years of experience Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, Pediatric Cardiology Nurse.

Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required

Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
