The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced actuarial analyses, based upon generally accepted actuarial principles, and to provide direction and oversight of more junior level actuaries. The completed analyses will be used by internal business leaders for data-based decision making. These analyses may relate to various areas of actuarial expertise, including: Pricing, Reserving, Reinsurance, Corporate Reporting, or combinations of these areas. At this level, solid communication skills are essential. This position will also include the management of one or more direct reports.

Job Responsibilities

• Large Account pricing
• Manage a small team of analysts and contractors primarily supporting pricing of large accounts
• Utilize available statistical data to establish reliable and accurate pricing, using generally accepted actuarial techniques; assess the pricing process on an ongoing basis; suggest/implement improvements to ensure actuarially sound pricing
• May assist with research and development of new pricing models/tools.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

Certification

• ACAS or FCAS

Work Experience/Skill Set

• 7+ years of relevant actuarial experience
• 3+ years of large account pricing experience
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent analytical ability
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office
• Experience in SQL and R preferred
