Process Operator - Hartwell, GA
3rd Shift (11pm-7am)
The Process Operator will start up, shut down, and operate in a safe, efficient manner the grinding / classifying operations and waste water treatment facility, to produce a desired quality and quantity of product, effectively communicating process variables to co-workers and coordinators.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment daily for a pre-shift inspection, maintain and clean assigned machine/equipment/area.
- Perform product change over, set-ups and operate centrifuges, screens, air classifiers, pneumatic and hydraulic transfer systems.
- Start-up / shut down, monitor waste water treatment facility.
- Operate filter press loading and packaging for coated mica products.
- Perform water testing pH, conductivity and water packing tests.
- Operate forklifts, front-end loaders and complete warehousing tasks to include: loading trucks, staging orders and placing materials into warehouse storage racks.
- Measure particle size of each process step using laser diffraction particle analyzers, analyzes data and adjusts process equipment to maintain process targets.
- Be responsible for data entry of quality tests using LIMS system.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, reports equipment malfunctions using the SAP maintenance notification system.
- Participate in the continuous improvement processes using the Simply Dare and Behavioral Safety programs.
Experience & Education:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Work an 8-hour shift and work weekends as needed.
- Manual dexterity, ascend, descend steps, stairs and/or ladders
- Oral and written skills to communicate and maintain accurate records
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
- Must be able to hear to decode communication and detect potential problems with the machine
- Able to lift 60 lbs., walk, sit, squat, bend, push/pull with arms/legs, body, reach overhead and stoop
- Able to work in variable climate temperatures
