Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA® (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL® (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.

Position Summary: This role will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and will serve as the HCP team lead – this leader will be responsible for delivering on all branded healthcare provider (HCP) initiatives in support of the US strategic and tactical plans of IBSRELA.  This position requires a highly motivated individual who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, has a solution-oriented mindset, and is able to execute.  The Director, HCP Marketing is responsible for collaborating with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Market Research, Sales, Regulatory, Commercial Operations, Legal, and Commercial leadership.  This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to work on a broad range of initiatives and gain exposure to company leadership. Responsibilities: 
  • Drive the strategy, development and rollout of innovative, insight-driven HCP marketing tactics that equip the field force with differentiated tools to drive engagement and performance.
  • Partner closely with the Digital Lead to shape and execute non-personal promotion strategy across omninchannel platforms, driving targeted HCP engagement and measurable brand growth.
  • Lead Congress strategy and execution planning (booth content, sponsorships, product theaters).
  • Collaborate with P2P lead to integrate P2P strategy into the broader HCP marketing plan, aligning content and KPIs to drive measurable results
  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership in managing relationships with marketing agencies and key external partners, ensuring seamless execution and optimization of marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, proactively navigating Medical, Legal, and Regulatory processes while driving efficiency and innovation in execution.
  • Foster and strengthen collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure success of cross-functional initiatives and long-range plans.
  • Partner with sales and commercial leadership to identify market challenges and opportunities, driving strategic solutions, enhanced training, and high-impact messaging to optimize performance.
  • Shape and influence the overall brand strategy, collaborating with marketing leadership to drive execution, innovation, and long-term growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS, MBA a plus, with 9-12 years marketing experience with substantial healthcare/pharma/biotech or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Combination of strong strategic thinking with ability to execute tactical plans
  • Proven experience leading direct reports, including performance management, coaching and goal setting
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with significant autonomy
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to interface with cross-functional partners and senior management
  • Ability to effectively and consistently execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
  • Ability to travel as required to meet business needs (~30%)
  • Hybrid corporate office and remote-based position, Boston area preferred
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $221,000 - $270,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers.
