Description
The lead building maintenance tech will ensure standards are maintained and task completion for building technician I roles. The lead will be proficient in ensuring that compliance, standards, and quality are maintained. The lead will have experience knowledge of building systems and peripherals. Also the ability to perform basic tasks as it relates to building and grounds maintenance (changing light bulbs, knowledge of where and how to drill holes in walls and doors, replacing telephones and telephone cords, replacing and programming televisions, assembling and moving all types of furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, cleaning light fixtures, receiving supplies, daily boiler checks, daily chiller checks, assisting with fire system checks and assisting other maintenance personnel with their daily duties. This position would lead the two-man team as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Engineering to complete projects and work orders for sheet rock repair and painting, and other miscellaneous building repairs. General contractors license would be preferred, as well as experience in abatement and infection control procedures. This position has no access to patient information.
SHIFT: The hours will fluctuate based on the needs of the organization. Although 40 hours a week, the shift may vary for days, evenings or nights.
Requirements
- High School diploma required or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- General Contractor (GC) license preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be able to communicate and explain problems to the proper personnel.
- Must be able to safely use all hand and power tools of the trade. Must be able to select correct materials for a given task or job and to maintain the tools properly.
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be familiar with inspection procedures and applicable healthcare regulations.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
