Opportunity for Jefferson Radiology Students- The student Tech would work every third weekend, Saturday 1130a-830p and Sunday 11a-8p, with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts.

Responsible for the performance of diagnostic imaging procedures on patients utilizing a computer-based system for patient record and image storage. Perform exams in a variety of clinical settings on adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients.

Summary
Responsible for the performance of diagnostic imaging procedures on patients utilizing a computer-based system for patient record and image storage. Perform exams in a variety of clinical settings on adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients.

Job Duties
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to perform imaging. Prepares for and assists the physician in imaging procedures. (40%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures, e.g. regulatory, billing protocol and image distribution. (20%)
  • Implements radiation protection and safety standards. (15%)
  • Assists the Technologist by attending to the patient's comforts/needs, expediting patient flow and documenting the patient's clinical information. (10%)
  • Maintain adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations. (10%)
  • May also assists in the preparation of contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED Presently enrolled, and in good standing, in a radiologic science program – Diag Rad/US/CT/MR/NM
  • Less than 1 year Minimum six (6) months of clinical experience as a student in the radiology department.
  • Must have passed all related exam competencies as set forth by the program guidelines and ARRT or ARDMS.
  • Computer skills as well as working knowledge of hospital RIS and PACS system.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
