About the Position:
Parking and Transportation Services provides access to the campus through alternative commute options and parking programs that mitigate traffic congestion and improve air quality through the reduction of mobile source emissions. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Transportation Support Assistant (Administrative Support Assistant II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the direction of the Lead Transportation Analyst, the Transportation Support Assistant provides administrative and office support, along with a full range of complex clerical and secretarial work assignments involving the use of judgement and discretion in support of CSUF's employee and student alternative transportation programs including ridesharing (carpool/vanpool), public transportation (bus/rail), active transportation (walk/bike), EV charging, and car-sharing. The Transportation Support Assistant serves as front line contact with the full range of communication and interaction with campus and community members and uses active problem solving and effective written and verbal communication to support the University's South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) Rule 2202 Survey. Under general direction, the Transportation Support Assistant applies discretion and initiative to address issues and develops practical, thorough, and creative solutions in alignment with the Transportation Demand Management Plan, Campus Circulation Study, and Fullerton Forward Strategic Plan. Supports the Lead Transportation Analyst by gathering, analyzing and summarizing data, utilizing applicable Microsoft Office programs, and performing standard arithmetic functions for the annual EV Charging UBIT Report, the annual cost-benefit analysis of CSUF's alternative transportation programs, and the triennial AASHE STARS report. The Transportation Support Assistant conducts outreach and presentations to encourage commuter students, faculty, and staff to try transportation alternatives to driving alone to campus, and to encourage resident students to use alternative transportation programs in lieu of bringing a car to campus.
