Description
The Department of Health & Exercise Science, partnered with the Department of Education invites applications for a full-time lecturer position starting on August 15, 2025 and ending on May 14, 2026. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching a 3-4 teaching schedule of introductory and upper-level courses in Westminster College’s Education and Health & Exercise departments, advise physical education and health education majors, and provide oversight of the Physical Education program. Successful candidates will also contribute to our undergraduate research program and demonstrate an appreciation of holistic student development.

Requirements
Education: Evidence of excellent teaching experience in Physical Education at the K-12 level and/or higher education field required. At minimum a Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Health and Wellness, Exercise Science, or related field. An earned doctorate or advanced ABD in Education, Physical Education, Health Education, or related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience teaching a broad scope of physical education related courses (creative movements, P.E. methods, Adapted P.E., Community Health) on a collegiate level
- Experience working in the education field
- Supervising student teaching (physical education & health education)
- Advising majors in Physical Education and Health Education
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods. (Student-centered learning, service learning, online teaching)
- Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate individual student learning
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology
