Americans' confidence in the media is at a low. Increasing numbers of people get their information from A.I. and social media. News organizations cannot take for granted that audiences understand what makes fact-based, independent reporting different.</p> <p>With that in mind, The New York Times's Trust Team is pursuing new newsroom initiatives to help people understand the value and nature of our journalism, by opening up our process and showing how we work. We are seeking a senior producer to work closely with the Trust team on videos featuring Times staff that explain how we approach our reporting, the nature of independent journalism and the decisions behind our coverage, standards and practices.</p> <p>You are an expert in vertical/social video production and audience engagement and bring a proven playbook for helping to shape our material and get it seen on other platforms. You will guide a small team to make our work accessible to a broad audience and translate it to sites like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube in alignment with existing NYT Audience goals and projects.</p> <p>You are a strong manager, thoughtful storyteller and excellent collaborator. Video editing and cinematography skills are an asset. You'll serve as a go-to resource for newsroom- and business-side colleagues, providing editorial guidance and constructive feedback, and must be comfortable enforcing deadlines and working in a fast-paced newsroom.
