POSITION OVERVIEW

LOGE Glacier is seeking Trails and Grooming LEAD for our LOGE Camps site in Essex, MT. 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Trail Maintenance & Grooming

• Operate snow grooming equipment (snowmobiles, drags, rollers, and groomers) to maintain and prepare trails daily based on weather and snow conditions.
• Perform regular inspections of the trail network to identify and address hazards (fallen trees, ice, signage, etc.).
• Maintain grooming logs, trail maps, and daily condition reports for both internal use and public updates.
• Oversee snowmobile and grooming equipment maintenance and repairs; coordinate with vendors or mechanics as needed.

Property Snow Removal & Winter Upkeep

• Assist with snow removal across the entire LOGE Glacier property, including walkways, parking areas, guest paths, and service zones.
• Operate plows, snow blowers, and shoveling equipment safely and efficiently to ensure accessibility and guest safety.
• Support general winter maintenance tasks such as sanding/icing, clearing decks and entries, maintaining outdoor lighting, and assisting the facilities team as needed.
• Work closely with the facilities and operations teams to prioritize snow management based on occupancy, events, and weather forecasts.

Program Management & Development

• Assist with the development and execution of the cross-country ski program, including lessons, clinics, guided outings, races, and community events.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and marketing team to design programming that enhances guest engagement and builds the LOGE Glacier cross-country community.
• Plan and execute the full cross-country season, including pre-season prep (trail clearing, signage, equipment readiness) and post-season wrap-up (storage, documentation, and improvement planning).
• Track operating budgets, fuel use, and maintenance costs.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local ski clubs, Forest Service, and outdoor organizations.
• Coordinate with the LOGE marketing team to update trail conditions, event info, and photos for guests and community channels.

Guest Experience & Safety

• Provide friendly and informed interactions with guests about trail conditions, routes, and safety.
• Help organize and support trail-related events (races, ski clinics, community days, etc.).
• Ensure signage, maps, and wayfinding materials are accurate, clear, and aligned with the LOGE brand.
• Uphold and model LOGE’s commitment to responsible recreation and environmental stewardship.

 

SKILLS NEEDED

• Expert level of knowledge of hotel maintenance and how to fix everyday property needs.
• A safety-first approach, and demonstrated attention to detail
• Great customer service skills and a professional, friendly, low-drama attitude.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a team player mindset.
• An ability to learn new things quickly, and a willingness to teach others
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and to keep on track, even when things get busy.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years previous hotel maintenance and/or facilities experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand written and ve
