Reporting to the Director, External Reporting, the full-time position for External Reporting Manager is responsible for external financial reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Principles Generally Accepted in the US (GAAP) and securities commissions' requirements in both Canada and the US. This position collaborates with individuals in various departments across Nutrien's global operations. Effective communication with process owners is essential to ensure disclosures meet the highest standards.
What you will do:
- Prepare best-in-class disclosures and high-quality working papers for Nutrien's regulatory filings such as financial statements, MD&A and AIF
- Analyze the consolidated financial results, financial condition and cash flows of the company and recommends, if any, opportunities for improvement to relevant business units/functions
- Lead significant finance initiatives such as purchase price allocations, company-wide legal entity financials, etc.
- A "go to person" for company-wide initiatives that require financial inputs, regulatory reporting review or recommendations (e.g. ESTMA, iXBRL, bond offerings, ESG projects, due diligence)
- Partner with various groups including but not limited to Controllers, Investor Relations, Legal, Treasury, Tax, and other groups to ensure that communication of financial results are in compliance with the applicable accounting standards and regulations
- Provide advice as to accounting disclosure for complex and non-routine financial transactions that could have material financial impact to Nutrien
- Apply specialized knowledge to determine any financial reporting and operational impact from emerging accounting and reporting issues
- Identify, recommend and implement best practices regarding financial reporting
- Effectively prioritize, complete and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting or similar
- 8 years of experience auditing large public companies with a public accounting firm, including management experience, and/or experience with financial reporting for a listed entity
- CPA/CA designation
- Comprehensive experience with IFRA and knowledgeable of US GAAP
- Strong understanding of the Canadian and SEC regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of systems in use by the External Reporting group such as BPC and SAP DM or similar tool is an asset
- Superior interpersonal, analytical, planning and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on complex issues, driving to timely resolutions
- Ability to think broadly and approach situations with an eye towards continuous improvement
- Sound, professional judgment
- Willingness and ability to take initiatives and work independently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range $98,400 - $135,300 annually. This range is estimated for External Reporting Manager role in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
