About the role
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Coordinator of Alumni and Scholarship Programs provides leadership to the development and advancement of Navarro College’s Alumni and Scholarship programs. This position oversees scholarship processes, working collaboratively with the Executive Director of Navarro College Foundation, and official scholarship committees to process information leading to awarding of funds.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, plans, develops, and monitors alumni activity.
- Reviews and interprets policies and procedures used in awarding scholarships.
- Coordinates the scholarship application process in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Ensures fiscal tracking and accountability of Foundation-based scholarships.
- Collects data and prepares analysis reports.
- Serves as the liaison between Navarro College and the Caston Foundation.
- Reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Caston Scholarship Committee.
- Provides updated information regarding scholarships to area high school students.
- Creates and maintains historical information relevant to the College and the Foundation.
- Oversees the process for maintaining on-going communication with Alumni.
- Responsible for tracking alumni membership and participation.
- Assists Executive Director in promotional activities for the College, including presentations at service clubs and civic organizations.
- Researches and coordinates the application for innovative alumni recruitment strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), analytical, and organizational skills
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least one year of related experience in a similar setting
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Previous resource development experience
- Previous experience with scholarship management
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Busy working environment with numerous interruptions
SALARY: $20. per hour / up to 19 hours per week
