The Advanced Production & Automation team within the office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is seeking a Manager, Advanced Production & Automation - Production System Modeling, Simulation & Analysis to join our team in Charleston, SC. This position leads a team of technologists developing and deploying production system simulation, modeling and analysis tools and capabilities. This team will engage with active production programs as well as product development teams to support factory visualization, discrete event simulation, production system trades, rate break analysis and more. The team will also pursue and execute to internal & external funding opportunities and R&D partnerships to advance the processes and tools for production system MS&A on behalf of the Boeing enterprise.

Additionally, the team will lead and/or support execution of enterprise-impactful, positively disruptive Production System demonstrations and pathfinders to deliver value through practical applications of production system modeling, simulation and analysis tools & techniques.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment while coordinating across functional and organizational boundaries to drive mutual value through demonstration activities.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Project management discipline with focus on key metrics of success while maintaining close oversight on financial and timeline management of the team

  • Leadership and project demonstrations of Digitally Enabled Production System concepts. Including, Digital Factory Ecosystem, Large Scale Production System visualization, Immersive Training, virtual ergonomic analysis, Production System Architecture, Production System Modeling & Simulation and Analysis, predictive assembly

  • Develop and maintain an inclusive, cohesive team environment

  • Foster the development of team members in technical and career aspirations

  • Work with production program teams and Enterprise Technology Office to develop enterprise technology roadmaps and scout new advancements in pursuit of positively disruptive, competitively advantageous technologies.

  • Align with production and product development program customers to ensure demonstrated value aligns to programmatic needs, correlated to SCNs and readiness level and implementation timelines

  • Leverage existing global teams skills and experience to execute projects

  • Travel up to 25% of time

  • Ability to travel Domestically and Internationally 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience leading project teams to meet project objectives and deliverables

  • 3+ years experience leading engineering teams in research & development, and program support 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with digitally enabled factory systems and architectures

  • Experience leading teams conducting modeling, simulation and analysis

  • Degree in an engineering field

  • Experience with production system technologies  

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering role

  • Experience managing teams and projects spread across multiple locations

  • Experience working in or with BDS and/or BCA
