Responsibilities

Work Schedule:

Sunday - Saturday, 8 to 12 hour shifts, days and nights

In House Supervisor provides 24/7 hospital clinical oversight working various shifts, to include weekends and holidays, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Scheduled can consist of 5 (8’s) 7a-3p/3p-11p/11p-7a or 3 (12’s) hour’s shifts 7a-7p/7p-7a, & 1 (4) hours shift 7a-11a/11a-3p/3p-7p/7p-11p/11p-3a

 

Core Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

• Oversees and evaluates nursing activities and personnel and enforces nursing standards and policies of the 99 MDG. • Ensures nursing personnel are compliant IAW with nursing practices and hospital standards, regulations, and policies.• Serves as a resource and intervenes when necessary to resolve issues that are unresolvable at the staff level.• Will notify hospital leadership per hospital notification matrix, as needed, for any hospital patient issues or concerns such as hospital diversions, unresolved staffing issues, staff injuries that results in hospitalization, staff members or patient hospital violence or unusual occurrences, security problems, major facility issues that impact hospital mission, fire, disasters, bomb threats, active shooter, etc..• Will assist with all hospital movement to include transfers between units, admissions from the outpatient clinics, Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Operating Room or Veterans Medical Facility. • Will ensure Admissions and Disposition is contacted for all admissions and transfers and verify bed availability with unit and accepting provider.• Assist unit charge nurse project daily staffing needs based on acuity, safe care, and staff availability.• Float personnel to other units based on level of expertise.• Knowledge computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.• Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with co- workers, families, peers, and other health team members.• Excellent oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization. Effectively uses appropriate communication format in addressing professional issues.• Completes orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with (IAW) hospital guidelines.• Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: Shall be a graduate from a baccalaureate degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.* Experience:Minimum of 8 years as a Registered Nurse of which the last 3-5 years of experience is in critical care or emergency nursing and have the ability to provide clinical and operational knowledge on hos
