Housing and GIK Associate (Temporary)

World Relief Upstate SC seeks a Housing and GIK Associate to support the office’s partnerships in Greenville and Spartanburg Counties by supporting clients with housing support and furniture (Gift-in-Kind) acquisition.

Role & Responsibilities

• Housing Support     
• Be familiar with donor and program guidelines related to client housing to ensure compliance.   
• Document all contacts and services performed in client case files and maintain case note logs.
• Complete all case file forms completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.   
• Support Resettlement Specialist case managers with the occasional arrival, home visit bus training or school enrollment.   
• Assist Housing Team in securing appropriate housing for newly arrived clients.   
• Assist Housing Team in performing lease signing, ensuring clients understand the lease with appropriate language, and uploading leases into the CRM.   
• Case note documentation of Material Needs Form (MNF) and Site Visit Housing Checklist (SVHC) is completed and uploaded to Dynamics within 10 days of any R&P client move.     
• GIK and Apartment Set-Up   
• Collect and record donations in the community from private donors and through community partnerships.   
• Drive U-Haul and moving vans regularly.   
• Deliver furniture and other items to program participant homes, including lifting and moving furniture.   
• Move, organize, and document supplies in the storage units; maintain up-to-date inventory records.   
• Follow standards of practice to identify and purchase required items from community partners or other sources.   
• Meet deliveries on-site at program participants’ homes.   
• Complete home set-ups, including lifting and moving furniture, at program participants’ homes when needed.   
• Communicate incoming and outgoing donations with Office and Database Coordinator. 
• As needed, assist Community Engagement and Donations Specialist with donations valuation and entry in CRM.   
• Meet regularly with the Housing, Resettlement, and Upstate SC teams. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.   
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.   
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of client confidentiality.    
• Experience with cross-cultural communication and the ability to work with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.   
• Speaking a second language is a benefit, but not necessary for this position.   
• Adaptable to ever changing situations and needs.  
• Preferred education: Associate degree or 2 years of relevant experience, such as working with refugees or diverse vulnerable populations in a social service setting.

Requirements

• Able to lift and move furniture, including sofas, tables, and beds, including up stairs. 
• Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.    
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) and internet applications.   
• Valid driver’s license and able to pass the background check and MVR.
