The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) whose mission is research in support of National Security.

What will you do?
Will enforce security regulations; observe and patrol designated areas; prevent unauthorized access to protected areas; act as necessary in the event of emergencies including fire, industrial accident, internal disorder and attempts to commit espionage, sabotage, or other criminal acts; protect Laboratory personnel and property; participate in training programs required by law or established by the Laboratory, and perform other duties as directed.
General:
* Must be able to interact with a diverse population and work with minimal supervision
* Will be required to obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications
* May require frequent prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain
* Frequent lifting and/or moving up to ten pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds may be required
* Must be able to work third shift (11pm-7am) with the possibility of transitioning to first or second shift
* Telework is not available for this position

What you need/Requirement:
For this position, you must meet these basic requirements.
* High school graduate with two years of security-related experience preferred. Security related education may be substituted for job experience
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* The ability to obtain and maintain government security clearances is required
* Preference will be given to candidates with an existing Secret government clearance
* The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment investigation
* Must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information including compartmented programs
* Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
