In this exciting role as a Senior Manufacturing Manager, you will have responsibility for leading the production side of a batteries value stream(s) supporting multiple Operating Units. The Brooklyn Center facility supports the design, development, and production of implantable batteries and battery packs used in devices for a variety of Medtronic businesses. In this role you will gain experience with products across Medtronic’s portfolio, supporting your development and growth. This role reports to the manufacturing director of battery operations and oversees and directs the work of a team of Production Supervisors.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Enforce safety standards, maintain a clean and orderly work environment and ensure adherence to regulatory and environmental requirements
Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals in safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.
Develops with supply chain partners production schedules and manpower plans based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
Plans and administer procedures and budgets. Develop and manage department budgets, oversee inventory to ensure delivery, inventory and lead time objectives are met. Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function. Supervise and mentor a team of supervisors, team leads and potentially some support personnel fostering a culture of safety, collaboration and innovation.
Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
Lead initiatives using lean manufacturing, six sigma methodologies to reduce waste and enhance production capabilities.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
OR
An advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
Nice to Have
Leadership experience in manufacturing settings
Experience using lean tools and mechanisms to improve business and manufacturing processes
Experience in a high-volume high mix environment
SAP and MES systems
Able to acquire high level of technical knowledge to solve issues
Can work closely with development partners to successfully launch new products
Versed in Quality Management Systems in a highly regulated industry
