The Director, Compliance Experience & Enablement will shape the associate experience of the US compliance program by delivering clear communications, impactful training, and easy access to compliance resources while enabling key ERC processes. This person will lead a team focused on making compliance accessible, understandable, and actionable for all associates, fostering a strong culture of compliance through targeted initiatives and continuous improvement.This role is required to be in our East Hanover, NJ office 3x/week. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Compliance Experience and Enablement team (two Associate Directors), fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture.
- Provide strategic direction for compliance communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Oversee the design and rollout of engaging, relevant US compliance training, partnering with business advisors and delivery teams to maximize impact and effectiveness.
- Optimize the usability and accessibility of US compliance resources (e.g. Compliance Navigator, Field Guide, Ask US ERC Agent, WPD repository), working with technology and enablement teams to implement innovative solutions, enhance navigation, content clarity, and user satisfaction.
- Partner closely with ERC business advisors to design and integrate clear and actionable ERC guidance and innovative compliance experiences into US organization ways of working and training strategies (e.g. Integrity Champions networks) to enable an integrity-driven compliance culture, reinforce compliance priorities and address emerging risks or policy changes.
- Enable certain ERC processes (eg ERC Incident and LMQ reviews) designed to keep proactive pulse on emerging signals from US associate behaviors, including trend identification, analysis, coaching and coordination with communication, training, resource and experience activities described above.
- Create and evolve engagement and development experiences for the US ERC function (eg US ERC Pizza and Policy, Business, Beats & Bites, US ERC bootcamps) in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Be a knowledge expert related to Novartis healthcare compliance policies, procedures and how they apply to associates’ roles and responsibilities throughout all functions of the US organization.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications, training, engagement experience and ERC processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
Desirable Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., Communications, Learning & Development, Business, or related field)
7+ years of experience in compliance, communications, training, or related roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
Proven leadership and people management experience
Experience designing and delivering communications, training, engagement experiences, and/or associate engagement tools, portals / resources
Demonstrated project management and communication skills and focus on continuous improvement, leveraging innovation and technology
Benefits & Rewards
The salary for this position is expected to range between $176,400 and $327,600 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
