About the role

Our Senior Financial Analyst is the administrative financial lead for the IPLF, Inc., all Campaigns and Foundations.  This includes analysis of general ledger accounts, bank reconciliations, subsidiary schedules/reconciliations relating to these companies/entities.  The fundamental responsibility of this position includes interacting, understanding, and analyzing not only the financial reporting for IPLF, Inc. and all campaigns a well as companies that are the reporting responsibilities of Fiscal Services - Central Services, Child Nutrition, Catholic Community Foundation, John Carroll Foundation, Roman Catholic Foundation and others, as added.

Essential Functions: 

  •  Coordinate and perform all financial reporting responsibilities related to IPLF, Inc. This includes daily processing of transfer requests, preparation of monthly entries, financial statements, bank and account reconciliations to assure an accurate and timely reporting process. 
  • Daily review and approval of the daily banking cash transactions for all the reporting companies.    
  • Manage the process of stock related donations to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the donor’s intents/restrictions.
  • Post and maintain weekly/monthly campaign related activity processed through the lockbox for the campaigns.  Confirm that Raisers Edge/GL postings are consistent with daily bank reports. Work closely with Department of Advancement’s Gift Processing personnel to reconcile any differences on a weekly/monthly basis.  
  • Prepare bank, general ledger and account analysis on a monthly basis for all companies associated with, but not limited to IPLF, Inc, Campaigns and Foundations.
  • Along with IPLF, Inc., organize, analyze, review, and prepare the financial reports for the various Campaigns and Foundations.  This includes various reports for management’s review and evaluation to present at related campaign allocation meetings.  
  • Manage the unique parish share agreements that will be an integral part of the quarterly parish share calculations.  
  • Coordinate and assist in the quarterly calculation, reporting and disbursement of the Campaigns’ parish share.   
  • Direct the quarterly reconciliation process of the Raisers Edge database for pledge receivables and revenue to the Great Plains general ledger. This includes preparation of roll forward schedules in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure designated investments and/or restricted investments are properly impacted and maintained.  
  • Control the entire grant process.  This includes upholding proper grant approvals, confirming requests are processed through the correct Campaign, Company or Foundation in efforts to avoid any duplications or errors. 
  • Assist in annual audit requirements for the IPLF, Campaigns, Central Service, Child Nutrition and Foundations.

 

Position Qualifications:  

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • CPA and or a CPA candidate with public audit experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a medium to large sized organization.
  • A self-starter who can perform various accounting processes with minimal direct oversight.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications a must.  Great Plains, Raisers Edge, and Access are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a contributing member of a team is vital.
