Summary
Crew Leader I, under the general supervision of the Parks Foreman, oversees the mowing of all TXDOT and roadsides throughout the City, and assists in the planning and scheduling of work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervises, instructs, and manages crewmembers to ensure proper completion of assigned duties and adherence to mowing and construction schedules
• Develops and recommends maintenance schedules for TXDOT roads and all city roadsides
• Manages entire mowing division in absence of mowing foreman
• Operates and properly maintains a variety of heavy equipment, including front loaders, dump trucks, pay loaders, boom mowers, shredders, bucket trucks, tractors, and riding mowers
• Assists with and ensures the proper completion of various projects, including sanding, painting, seeding/sodding, welding, woodworking, park equipment repair, concrete pouring, graffiti removal, and basic construction
• Performs routine equipment checks (e.g., fluid levels, tires) and maintains accurate records
• Ensures proper safety policies and procedures are enforced on the job sites
• Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, and manages subordinates
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in landscaping or related area
• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or lead role

Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual in English & Spanish

• Class B CDL
